There is One Who Loves Us
by Pat Finlay
Picture this: A farmyard where chickens can roam freely. A mother hen and her little chicks are scratching for bugs, when suddenly danger appears. The chicks are helpless, but the mother is wise and has trained her babies to obey. They never stray very far, so when she clucks for them they instantly run to her wings and the enemy does not see them. They are quite safe from harm. When the danger has passed they go about business as usual.
Think about it. So simple, and so wonderful.
Father, please give us hearing ears and a heart that’s quick to obey.
“…how often I have desired and yearned to gather (you) together around Me, as a hen gathers her young under her wings, but you would not”.
(Luke 13:34 Amplified Bible)
